There are five major factors that are needed for any living organism:
-
Water
-
Temperature
-
Nutrients or food
-
Light
-
Oxygen

Like all Living creatures on Earth, plants need basic necessities to thrive in their environments. if they go without
water, they keep at the same
size, or they slowly shrink,
then they wither and die.
Without the proper
temperature, they will not
perform well or at all.
As for light, most plants
have adapted for not
enough light by using the
Calvin Cycle. To perform at
100%, they need their desired
intake. Most to all plants create
Oxygen from Carbon Dioxide. General
nutrients can be taken from the soil or
water that the plant is in. The plant will
thrive in that environment as long as it have
the proper nutrients that it needs.
Nutrient Uptake goes more in-depth on how these nutrients are absorbed into the plant.
