Plants absorb nutrients and water through their roots, but photosynthesis occurs in the leaves. Therefore, plants need to get fluids and nutrients from the ground up through their stems to their parts that are above ground level.
← Here is a dried Maple leaf with the soft tissue removed. You can see the random interconnected loops and lines. These are the veins that carry water and nutrients found in the ground to the leaves.
Just like living creatures, plants have a vascular system that transports food and water everywhere within the organism. Although, plants don't have a heart, so it can’t be called cardiovascular.

Fun Fact!

The reason in the morning there might be "dew" on some plants but not on your car is because of transpiration. It's the process of losing water. Overnight, pressure builds in the leaves because there is no light to help the plant generate and build energy. So the water and sap is pushed out and collects on the leaf.
