Here is a perfect example of some of the ways we pollute the soil and where it all goes. If you would like to learn more on this picture, visit Scotland's Environment or click on the picture.
As you see in the background picture, people just throw garbage into an empty patch of land. All of the fine particles and liquids seep into the soil degrading the quality. Then slowly working its way into our rivers and groundwater reserves.

Human Impact On Soil

On the global basis, the soil degradation is caused primarily by overgrazing, agricultural activities, deforestation, over harvesting of land to produce fuel wood, wrongful disposal, and industrialization.
People may think that they are doing the right thing by disposing of garbage in one place. That just makes it easier for liquids so seep through because more of it will be there. and once it seeps into the ground and water, it will not stop disrupting the natural cycles. By contaminating the soil, crops cant grow, as seen in the background. Into the water means it can be mobile and can go anywhere, contaminating soil, wild life, humans, and even the air. This goes onto the next few sub-pages; Water and Air pollution.
